Authorities say a man barricaded himself inside a National Guard armory in Maryland for about an hour before being taken into custody. Baltimore County Police say no one was injured.

The department said on its Twitter feed that the unidentified, unarmed man had been holed up Monday afternoon at the Guard's MG William C. Purnell Readiness Center in Perry Hall.

It was not clear why the man was there or if he had made any demands. Police say he's being taken for evaluation, but they aren't releasing details.

Maryland National Guard spokesman Lt. Charles Koehler said the armory consists of offices, a drill hall, range training areas and obstacle courses. He says there are small arms in the facility.
