HOUSTON – An anti-abortion activist who made undercover videos at Planned Parenthood clinics claims a Texas district attorney colluded with the provider to obtain an indictment accusing him of falsifying records to make his secret recordings.
Attorneys for David Robert Daleiden filed court documents Thursday seeking dismissal of the indictment. The Houston Chronicle (http://bit.ly/1SOCGxm ) reports Daleiden's attorneys also contend that the Harris County grand jury that indicted the Davis, California, man wasn't empaneled properly.
The indictment alleges Daleiden used a fake driver's license to conceal his identity while dealing with Planned Parenthood. He's charged with second-degree record tampering and misdemeanor attempting to buy human organs.
Daleiden's videos alleged Planned Parenthood illegally sold fetal tissue to researchers for profit.
District Attorney Devon Anderson has repeatedly said her office was guided by the evidence.
