HARRIMAN, Tenn. – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says two police officers have shot a man while responding to a domestic disturbance in East Tennessee.
Media cited a bureau statement in reporting that the officers from the Harriman Police Department responded to the call on Tuesday night and arrived to find 27-year-old Nathan Manis outside a residence with a gun. The statement says officers confronted Manis, who began firing and officers returned fire.
Manis was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. His condition wasn't available.
The officers weren't injured.
The races of the officers and the suspect were not immediately known.
The Bureau of Investigation says after it completes the investigation, the case will be handed over to District Attorney General Russell Johnson for review.
