A driver who police say struck and killed an officer working on a drunken-driving task force has been indicted on a manslaughter charge.

A Montgomery County grand jury returned an indictment Thursday charging 47-year-old Luis Reluzco of Olney with manslaughter by automobile in the death of 24-year-old Officer Noah Leotta.

Gustavo was also indicted for violating Maryland's "move over law," which requires drivers to move over one lane if an emergency vehicle is on the side of the road.

Police say Leotta was conducting a traffic stop Dec. 3 in Rockville when another car struck his cruiser and then him. Leotta died a week later.

Reluzco's lawyer tells The Washington Post that his client realizes the gravity of his actions.
