A 19-year-old Cleveland man faces charges including aggravated murder in the fatal shooting of a 5-month-old girl who was riding in the car as her mother drove to a store for birthday cake supplies.

Authorities announced Monday that Davon Holmes has been indicted in the slaying of Aavielle Wakefield on Oct. 1 in Cleveland. A 62-year-old man has been indicted on a tampering with evidence charge for picking up shell casings after the shooting.

Police said last month that tips from the public led to Holmes' arrest, but provided no details about the slaying on Monday. No one else in the car was injured.

Holmes is being held on a $1.5 million bond. Court records don't indicate whether he has an attorney who could comment on the accusations.
