A man said he heard a strange scratching noise at the door of his Central Florida home Thursday, and opened it to find a 9 1/2-foot alligator crawling around.
He said it happened in the middle of the night at his house in Lutz.
The homeowner called a trapper to wrangle the bull gator. Capt. Phil Walters told Fox 13 he got the animal under control using two ropes and a roll of tape.
The alligator was eventually killed, local media report. There were no other reports of injuries.
