Authorities say four police officers were hurt and three juveniles were arrested after officers tried to break up a brawl involving dozens of students near an eastern Pennsylvania high school Thursday.

Police say Allentown officers were responding to reports of a large group of students fighting in the street outside William Allen High School on Thursday afternoon. Approximately 200 youths were gathered near the school.

Police say some of the students turned on officers as they tried to pull fighters apart. Three youths were arrested after the incident. It's not clear what charges they're facing.

Police say two officers suffered moderate injuries and two others had minor injuries; all four were treated and released from the hospital.
