The administration at one New York City school gets an ‘F’ in spelling.
Graduating eighth-graders at Robert F. Wagner Middle School on Manhattan’s Upper East Side received diplomas with the word “department” misspelled, MyFoxNY.com reported.
The word “department” is incorrectly spelled as “departmemt,” with an “m” instead of an “n.”
"It didn't take me very long to notice the typo," said Nancy Gardner, whose daughter Danielle is one of some 400 students who graduated from the public school on June 19.

One parent said that students received the diplomas with the misspelling days before the official graduation ceremony, but that there was neither a mention of the error nor an apology during the ceremony.
"I'm sure next year they will be poring over those diplomas to make sure every "i" is dotted and "t" is crossed," said Gardner.
The Department of Education told the station that it only prints diplomas for high schools, and that the typo was likely created by the middle school.
Wagner educators work to “challenge ourselves, encourage rigorous expectations, and always strive for success. Collaboratively, we prepare all students to be critical thinkers for college, careers, and beyond,” according to the school’s website.
