A 21-year-old Panama City man convicted of taking cash and cigarettes during an armed robbery at a gas station will spend 25 years in prison.

Circuit Judge Brantley Clark Jr. issued the sentence to Jessie Floyd on Monday.

Floyd was convicted in May for robbery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon of a Panama City Texaco station in 2014.

The News Herald of Panama City reports Floyd ordered the clerk to empty the cash register at knifepoint. He also took a few packs of cigarettes. Floyd was found minutes after the robbery, with $486, gloves and the kitchen knife used in the robbery.
