Investigators say a 70-year-old woman delivering newspapers in Washington state was run over and killed by another newspaper carrier.

The Kitsap County Sheriff's office says Madeline K. Boatwright was delivering The Kitsap Sun in an unincorporated area north of Bremerton on Sunday morning when a 62-year-old man delivering The Seattle Times backed his Subaru out of a residential driveway and struck her.

Boatwright had parked across the street and was apparently delivering a Kitsap Sun to the same driveway where the Subaru was backing out.

The driver immediately called 911. Emergency crews brought the woman to a Bremerton hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
