NORMAN, Okla. – A 19-year-old Oklahoma man accused of raping a former high school classmate has been sentenced to two years in prison and will be required to register as a sex offender under a deal struck with prosecutors.
Court records show Tristen Kole Killman-Hardin of Norman entered no-contest pleas Monday to two counts of first-degree rape. He was accused of assaulting a 16-year-old girl who police say was intoxicated and incapable of giving consent.
District Attorney Greg Mashburn says Killman-Hardin was sentenced to 10 years, with eight years suspended, and must register as a sex offender for life.
A telephone message left with Killman-Hardin's attorney wasn't immediately returned.
The case prompted protests by students who said school administrators responded poorly once rape allegations by the 16-year-old and other girls surfaced last fall.
