There are lots of traits and tools a person needs to become a successful entrepreneur. To name a few: creativity, determination, intelligence, funding, and even a little luck.

If you ask TV star Mike Rowe, he'd say one more key to success is curiosity.

Rowe, who is best known for his gig as host of Discovery Channel's Dirty Jobs, has traversed the U.S. working side by side with countless entrepreneurs -- literally getting his hands dirty in all types of jobs and industries. He knows a little something about learning new skills on the fly.

The key to learning new skills and becoming more versatile is curiosity, Rowe says. "If you can't be curious ... then learning is just a bitch. It's a job. It's a slog."

For more on Rowe's thoughts on curiosity, watch the short video above. You can also check out his show, Somebody's Gotta Do It, which airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on CNN.
