The parents of an 8-month-old baby who was found jammed between a mattress and a wall in a Stamford, Connecticut hotel Wednesday had  reportedly come to the state from Ohio to tape a segment for the “The Maury Show” to reveal the paternity of the baby.

No charges have been filed against the parents. An autopsy had ruled physical abuse, sexual abuse and neglect as the causes for the death, the Stamford Advocate reports.

The determination of the cause of the baby’s death is pending, Stamford Police Lt. Diedrich Hohn told the paper.

Hohn confirmed Thursday the parents would supposed to be on Maury Povich’s tabloid television show, but did not say what the segment was going to be about. The segment was going to be filmed the same day the baby was found dead.

The paper reports the segment was going to be a paternity test that would reveal the father of the baby was truly his.

Hohn said the hotel was messy when the medics arrived and there was signs of a fight that took place in the hotel as food was found thrown around the room as well as empty alcohol bottles.

However, Hohn said the scene did not reveal an “exorbitant” amount of alcohol took place.

The 25-year-old father and 27-year-old mother also had a 2-year-old son, but was not harmed.
