Here's one upside to all this snow: It was so deep in Troy, New Hampshire, that residents were finally able to capture a black Labrador retriever who'd been on the lam for three years.

The wily female pup had been spotted regularly, but nobody could get close enough for a grab. On Sunday night, Courtney Davis spotted her running from an abandoned trailer. Hampered by deep, fluffy snow, the dog couldn't get away.

Since then, Carl Patten Jr. has been keeping the pooch nicknamed Houdini in his heated garage. He says the dog is starting to calm down but "still wants her freedom."

The rescue organization Granite State Dog Recovery is asking for the public's help in finding the dog's owner. She has a microchip, but the paperwork wasn't registered.
