Another exclusive Connecticut boarding school is being sued over sexual-abuse allegations dating back three decades.

A former student of the Hotchkiss School in Salisbury says he was subjected to ritual sexual hazing by other students and was raped by a teacher during the mid-1980s. He filed the lawsuit Thursday in U.S. District Court.

The lawsuit says the student wrote an article about the school's lack of response to abuse complaints but school officials prevented the student newspaper from publishing it.

Hotchkiss School leaders say they are committed to student safety and are investigating the abuse claims.

The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages. It was filed by attorney Antonio Ponvert III, who has filed similar lawsuits for former students at the nearby Indian Mountain School. That school's headmaster has said the allegations are shocking and disheartening.
