A 28-year-old Seattle woman is facing a second degree rape charge after being accused of entering a man’s residence and sexually assaulting the man as he slept.

Court papers say the man, now 31, awoke in bed in June 2013 to find Chantae Marie Gilman on top of him, having sex with him while pinning his hands down over his head, the Seattle Times reported Thursday.

The man did not know Gilman but recognized her as a drug user in the neighborhood where he lived. The court papers don’t say how she was able to gain entry into the home.

The Times said Gilman told the man “to be quiet” when he told her to get off of him. Eventually, he shoved her out the door and then went to the hospital for a sexual assault examination. DNA recovered from the exam matched Gilman.

She told police she did not recall being in the man’s home or having sex with him, and that she is bipolar and suffers from psychosis. The paper said she recently gave birth to a baby girl.

Gilman entered a not guilty plea Thursday in King County Superior Court. She’s behind bars with bail set at $100,000. A judge rejected her lawyer’s request to reduce the bail.
