Family, friends and even strangers have come together to raise money for the funeral of a New Jersey woman who died while napping in her car between jobs.

The funeral for 32-year-old Maria Fernandes was held Friday in Newark.

Friends eulogized a woman who insisted on spending her money on others, who relished having a good time and who loved Michael Jackson.

Friends, family and people whose only knowledge of Fernandes was reading reports of her death returned her generosity by raising about $6,000 to pay for her service.

Elizabeth police believe Fernandes pulled over for a nap after an overnight shift at a Dunkin' Donuts.

Police say it appears Fernandes was overcome by a mixture of carbon monoxide and fumes from an overturned gas container. Toxicology results are pending.
