An Iowa woman accused of lying about her daughter's cancer diagnosis is facing additional charges.

Des Moines television station KCCI reports 30-year-old Leatha Slauson was charged Wednesday with child endangerment causing bodily injury and unlawful possession of a prescription drug. She faces earlier charges of child endangerment and drug distribution.

A message left for Slauson's attorney was not immediately returned Thursday.

Authorities say Slauson solicited donations for her 5-year-old daughter after she told people the girl had terminal cancer. An investigation found the child is not suffering from any disease.

Court documents filed by the Atlantic Police Department say Slauson injected the child with a prescription drug. She is also accused of giving her cannabis oil.

Slauson remains at the county jail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled Tuesday.
