A Texas man has been sentenced to prison after bragging about an assault during a softball game that left a man with brain damage.

A Williamson County jury sentenced Leovardo Cantos on Monday to 15 years in prison. Jurors found him guilty of aggravated assault in July for an attack during a November softball game.

Witnesses from both teams say the victim was on the ground when Cantos kicked him in the head following a routine play at first base. The victim needed emergency brain surgery after the attack.

Cantos bragged about the assault on Facebook about 30 minutes after it took place.

He was on probation for three convictions of felony assault at the time of the November attack.
