Police say a boy witnessed as his 52-year-old mother was struck by a fallen tree branch that killed her following severe weather that impacted much of southeast Texas. (MyFoxHouston.com)
A 7-year-old Houston boy witnessed his mother getting crushed by a tree branch as the two walked outside their home, MyFoxHouston.com reported.
When the branch snapped, it caused a powerline to fall with it, which prevented paramedics from assisting her immediately, the report said. She later died. The boy reportedly ran to a bus stop and alerted the school bus driver who contacted 911.
The region has been getting hit with severe weather.
Family members of the 52-year-old woman said the boy was recovering from his injuries at Texas Children's Hospital.
