Man accidently shoots self at Florida gun range

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. – Authorities say a man training with a security firm accidently shot himself in the leg while trying to holster his gun.

The incident took place at the Wyoming Antelope Club in Pinellas Park Sunday afternoon.

The Tampa Bay Times reports the man was training with S2 Safety and Intelligence Institute, which leases part of the facility.

Range president says the man held a finger on the trigger while attempting to put the gun in the holster.

Police say the man was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg and his injuries were not considered life-threatening.

The man's name has not been released.
