An honor roll student in Kansas was suspended after she took a picture of a pornographic image that she says appeared on her high school teacher’s projector during class, KCTV5.com reported.

The girl, a student at JC Harmon High School in Kansas City, was not named in the report, but she told the station that she took the picture that appeared after a teacher started the projector, which was linked to his laptop.

The girl sent the image to her boyfriend and the photo somehow appeared on another Facebook account. The the girl and her boyfriend were suspended for two days, the report said.

"I believe my son got in trouble because the school was trying to hide something," Karen Winkel, the boy's mother said.

The school agreed to meet with the parents again.

The district told the station that it’s policy to put an employee on paid leave during an investigation.
