LOS ANGELES – A blackout that cut off the Super Bowl telecast for Time Warner Cable customers in Southern California for about an hour has ended.
Time Warner Cable spokesman Rich Ruggiero says the company has resolved a technical issue that affected just the Fox standard-definition channel, not the Fox high-definition channel. He says the company apologizes for the inconvenience to customers.
Earlier, hundreds of football fans took to Twitter to complain about the blackout.
Customers lost the standard-definition signal for about an hour, starting before the halftime show. Two other Time Warner cable channels — KCAL-TV and KTLA-TV — also were blacked out.
Ruggiero says the company is investigating the cause of the blackout.
