A former Miss Venezuela is set for a federal court trial later this month in Houston after she was accused of causing a disturbance on an airline flight.

Carmen Lechin faces a single-count indictment of interfering with a flight crew attendant. The indictment alleges she intimidated a crew member on a June 6 flight from Houston to Bogota, Colombia.

The indictment further alleges that Lechin caused a disturbance through "abusive language," "assaultive behavior" and by refusing to comply with instructions.

Her trial is set for Jan. 27.

Lechin was Miss Venezuela in 1984 and second runner-up at that year's Miss Universe competition. She had been on probation for a 2011 drunken driving and domestic violence incident in Colorado. Lechin now lives in Houston.
