LOCKPORT, La. – It might have appeared that Ben Freeman was trying to right some wrongs in his life in the months before police say he killed three people and himself.
In June, he agreed to pay his ex-wife Jeanne (ZHANNE) Gouaux (GO) thousands of dollars in overdue child support payments and the next month he agreed to split the proceeds from lots they were selling.
But authorities say that in October, Freeman pleaded guilty to telephone-harassment charges filed by Gouaux. And last month he was cited for domestic battery against his current wife.
Police say Freeman killed his wife Thursday, then killed more people and wounded three others wounded before killing himself.
Authorities say it's clear Freeman was going through a difficult divorce and custody case.
