Prosecutors say a Minnesota man charged with stealing a delivery truck told police he was running from zombies.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports 23-year-old Garrett Hurlbut, of Apple Valley, was charged by summons in September after he allegedly stole a Star Tribune delivery truck as the driver went into a gas station.

The complaint says the truck was found about a mile and a half away with Hurlbut nearby. Prosecutors say he had a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.198, more than twice the legal limit.

Police say Hurlbut said he was "running from zombies." He was taken to the hospital, where he again talked about fear of being chased.

Hurlbut's phone number is unlisted and he couldn't be reached for comment. Online court records do not list an attorney for him.
