Conn. woman who lost kids, parents in Christmas Day fire gets engaged

A woman whose three daughters and parents were killed in a Christmas morning fire in Connecticut in 2011 has become engaged.

Madonna Badger says in an article in Vogue magazine that she's getting married to Bill Duke next September. The couple plans to volunteer this Christmas to help children in need.

Badger says the pain is so huge it feels like a prison cell sometimes, but being of service helps ease the pain temporarily. She traveled to Thailand last Christmas and donated her daughters' toys to girls at an orphanage.

The fire at Badger's home in Stamford killed 7-year-old twins Grace and Sarah, 9-year-old Lily, and Badger's parents. The city determined the cause was accidental.
