A 70-year-old Florida woman is in jail after police say she tried to hire someone to kill her daughter-in-law.

A police report from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office alleges that Diana Reaves Costarakis offered an undercover detective $5,000 to do the job. The report says she gave the detective a photo of the woman, her address and a description of her car.

The report says Costarakis gave the detective two payments totaling $1,500, and told him to steal, then sell the woman's expensive jewelry to make up the rest.

Duval County Jail records show that Costarakis, of Middleburg, Fla., is being held without bond on charges of criminal solicitation and criminal conspiracy. Her court date is Oct. 31. It was not immediately known if she has an attorney.
