COATESVILLE, Pa. – Some parents are demanding the firings of two top administrators of a large southeastern Pennsylvania school district who resigned following reports that they exchanged racist and sexist text messages on their district phones.
Board members of the Coatesville Area School District on Monday confirmed the exchange of messages and ordered sensitivity training for all district employees. Board president Neil Campbell called the language "sickening and obviously unacceptable."
The board is scheduled to vote Tuesday night on accepting the Aug. 29 resignations of Superintendent Richard Como and the high school's athletic director, Jim Donato.
But some parents of children in the district tell The Philadelphia Inquirer (http://bit.ly/18lQbRt ) they want the men fired outright.
Ann Wertz, who has two children in the district, called the messages "inexcusable."
