Police in Colorado are looking for suspects who snuck into a cemetery and decapitated a Civil War statue worth up to $40,000, in addition to damaging more than 100 headstones.

Tracey George, the manager at the Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont, said footprints show at least two people climbed up on the monument last weekend and pushed it over, CBS Denver reports.

“It’s devastating … what, I guess, a group of people can do in a couple of hours,” George said.

The head from the statue, which dates to 1909, was later recovered. Longmont police say they are processing the head for DNA evidence.

Police have no leads yet, but the case is believed to be linked to other vandalism at the cemetery. A total of 106 headstones were pushed over on Aug. 9, while 68 were damaged in two attacks on July 29 and July 27, CBS Denver reports.
