Police say a man with a shotgun wounded one person at a North Carolina law firm before crossing a busy street and entering a Wal-Mart, where he shot three more people before officers subdued him.

Greenville Police Chief Hassan Aden says the suspect was shot by officers late Friday morning.

Authorities say the gunman crossed five lanes of traffic, entered the store and started shooting.

Officers located the suspect outside the store and shot him near the entrance.

The conditions and identities of the shooting victims weren't released.

Police released no motive.
