A 57-year-old woman was killed, two women in their 20s are missing and others are injured after a motorboat hit a houseboat and flipped on Lake Powell.

A dive team will search for the missing women Friday. The accident happened Thursday morning near Dangling Rope Marina in southern Utah.

Officials say the driver of the motorboat with 13 people aboard might have been distracted by some of the six children and wasn't able to avoid the houseboat.

Authorities say most of the people on the motorboat were family members from northern Utah. The male driver and an 11-year-old girl were airlifted to a hospital, while a third person was taken by ambulance.

None of the people on the houseboat were injured.

Lake Powell is a popular place for houseboat vacations.
