Police say the officer, Joel Breiner, was volunteering with another off-duty officer, Patrick Martin, at the Downtown Soup Kitchen Monday afternoon when an argument broke out between Faigle and another man in the kitchen's patio.

According to police, the officers told the men to "break it up," prompting the other man to leave. They say Faigle became combative with the officers and bit Breiner in the arm.
