Police in the nation's capital have discovered a man’s body floating in the Tidal Basin, an area teeming with tourists and locals catching glimpses of Washington's cherry blossom trees bloom.

The unidentified body was found around 1 a.m. Wednesday near the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, the Washington Post reports. The cause of death is unknown.

Another man’s body was found on Saturday south of the Lincoln Memorial in the Potomac River.

Police investigating both cases have not said whether the deaths are connected, the Washington Post reports.
