A Massachusetts man was saved Wednesday after being trapped under an overturned snowmobile in Maine for 20 hours.

64-year-old Paul Lessard was in fair condition after being found by wardens in a ditch with running water near the Canadian border.

MyFoxBoston.com reports Lessard's friend Nelson Gagnon reported him missing Tuesday evening after Lessard failed to return from a morning snowmobile ride and did not answer his phone.

Wardens determined that Lessard had been trapped since the previous day. They say he was conscious but showing signs of hypothermia following a frigid night with snow squalls.

He was taken to Northern Maine Medical Center and then transferred to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor where he was listed in fair condition.
