A Philadelphia-area man and woman say they are shocked and hurt by accusations of mistreatment by an adopted son who left and went back to Russia.

Eighteen-year-old Alexander Abnosov, who renamed Joshua Salotti when he was adopted five years ago, told Russian state media that his adoptive family treated him badly. He said he lived on the streets of Philadelphia and stole just to survive.

An emotional Steve Salotti of Collegeville tells WPVI-TV that it was "very hurtful" because he and his wife, Jackie, poured their lives into Josh and another adopted teen.

The Salottis said Josh's behavior changed after a trip back to Russia, and he left for good after they imposed house rules banning drugs and alcohol and calling for drug testing, counseling and a curfew.
