LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Police say the trail is going cold in the effort to find out who shot and killed three friends after a party in central Kentucky three years ago.
Clark County Sheriff Berl Perdue said it has been a while since he's had any sort of tip regarding the March 21, 2010 deaths of 23-year-old Clayton Edge, 24-year-old Robbie Reese, 21-year-old and Dustin Browning.
The three men stayed in Edge's home about 15 miles southeast of Winchester and held a party there that weekend. Party-goers told police nothing unusual happened at the gathering.
All three were found later Sunday with gunshot wounds to the head. Reese and Browning were downstairs and Edge was in an upstairs bedroom.
Perdue told The Winchester Sun that rumors swirled and a few people were interviewed, but no one has been arrested.
Clayton Edge's mother, Gay Edge, said the families are "praying for justice." Gay's hope is instilled in Clayton's little girl, Maddison.
"I strive to keep Clayton's memory alive for Maddison," she said. "I always try to let her know she was her daddy's world."
Robbie Reese's mother Crystal Robinson said she is just waiting on an arrest and conviction.
"Time doesn't matter. There are cases that are 20 years old," said Crystal Robinson, who held a candlelight vigil Saturday at the Clark County Courthouse. "I just want somebody to answer for what they've done."
Samantha Edge, Clayton's wife and Maddison's mother, thinks investigators getting closer to solving the case.
"Somebody knows something," she said. "I think that everyone that has been questioned needs to be re-questioned."
