Police shoot homeless man on rooftop at Florida college

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Police say they shot a homeless man on the Florida Atlantic University campus.

The incident Friday morning occurred on the rooftop of a building on the north side of FAU's Boca Raton campus.

Authorities said the man was armed with a knife. He is hospitalized, but his condition has not been released.

The Palm Beach Post reports the shooting didn't prompt any evacuation or lockdown. Police called it an isolated incident.

Boca Raton police and the state attorney's office are investigating.
