A New York man recently accused of killing a woman 20 years ago has now been indicted in the fatal stabbings of two others.

Sixty-year-old Lucius Crawford of Mount Vernon has spent 30 years in prison for nonfatal stabbings in New York and North Carolina going back to the 1970s.

The Westchester district attorney's office said Thursday that Crawford has been charged with two counts of murder and two counts of criminal weapon possession in the killings last month and in 1993.

He was indicted last month in another 1993 killing.

Mount Vernon police Commissioner Carl Bell says Crawford "focuses his attacks on young women. He befriends them and at some point he ends up either attacking them or killing them."

Crawford's lawyer says he will challenge the charges.
