A teenager has been arrested in connection with two rape cases in Arizona last month and will be tried as an adult.

Scottsdale police say 16-year-old Danny Jackson was taken into custody late Friday afternoon.

According to FOX 10, Jackson was booked on sexual assault, burglary and kidnapping charges. The sexual assaults reportedly occurred Oct. 18 and Oct. 24.

"We're positive this is the right guy," Sgt. Mark Clark with Scottsdale Police Department said.

A former classmate and teammate told FOX 10 that Jackson was violent. Police are looking to see if Jackson could be connected to any other crimes, FOX 10 reported.

On Thursday, police announced that forensic evidence had exonerated a man arrested previously in the case.

Authorities constructed DNA profiles that didn't match that 22-year-old man's DNA, which was submitted after he was taken into custody.

The suspect lived in the same apartment complex as one of the victims, but authorities say the two victims couldn't identify him as their attacker from a police lineup.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
