A judge has given his blessing to an arrangement that ends a legal dispute between a terminally ill New York woman and her parents.

Attorneys for both sides told a state Supreme Court Judge on Tuesday that 28-year-old Sungeun (sun-yun) Grace Lee has agreed to designate her father as her health proxy.

That will only happen if she becomes incapacitated and is unable to make health decisions for herself. She is currently deemed competent.

Lee was found to have a tumor on her brain stem last November. She was hospitalized last month.

Lee's parents lost two court decisions seeking to block her request to be taken off life support. She has since changed her mind and remains on a ventilator.
