Two people were shot dead and another 10 were injured in a drive-by shooting outside a funeral home in Miami on Friday night.

The shooting occurred at around 9:00pm when at least one person inside a car opened fire on mourners who were gathered for the funeral of a man who died recently, The Miami Herald reported.

One person died at the scene after being shot in the chest, witnesses said. It was not immediately known if the second person killed died at the scene or in a hospital.

More than 100 people had been gathering outside the funeral home in North Miami to mourn 22-year-old Marvin Andre, who was killed in a recent shooting, the Herald reported.

The injured victims were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital and other area hospitals. One of those injured was believed to be a five-year-old girl, WSVN-TV reported.

A man who was at the funeral described chaotic scenes in the aftermath of the incident.

"[Everybody was] screaming, running all over the place. The parking lot was full of people," he told WSVN.

"There were more than about 60 people [in the parking lot]. There were so many people inside, and there were a lot of people outside."

Police said the suspects were still on the loose Saturday morning.
