Los Angeles woman reportedly uses chainsaw to commit suicide

A Los Angeles woman reportedly killed her herself using a chainsaw, police said.

Valerie Nash, 47, was found dead early Thursday by her sister in the bedroom of her home in the Palms section of the city, Sgt. Richard Parks told CBS Los Angeles.

Nash was discovered with a chainsaw wound on her neck, Parks said.

"At this point, we’re investigating it as a suicide, as she left a suicide note," he told the station.

Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said authorities will try to determine whether she had a history of depression and whether she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
