GREENFIELD, Mass. – A New Hampshire pilot has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter in a Massachusetts plane crash that killed his 35-year-old daughter.
Fifty-seven-year-old Steven Fay of Hillsborough wasn't certified to pilot the twin-engine Cessna he crashed on approach to Orange Municipal Airport on New Year's Day 2011.
At his arraignment Wednesday in Greenfield, Mass., Fay said he doesn't have an attorney yet. He's due back in court with a lawyer on Feb. 24.
Fay's license to fly single-engine planes was revoked after the crash.
Fay has declined to comment on his case. He has said he's grief-stricken since the death of his daughter, Jessica Malin.
