Police say a woman whose SUV struck and killed three pedestrians as they prepared for a walk around a New York village had an arm in a cast and had taken medication that morning.

Acting Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple says investigators expect later Friday to have information extracted from the SUV's computer. Apple says the data could tell them if LuAnn Burgess' Toyota Highlander malfunctioned before it ran into the three women in Voorheesville on Wednesday morning.

The 55-year-old has told police her flip-flop apparently interfered with the gas pedal.

Apple says she also told investigators she had taken a prescription drug before the crash, but they don't know if it was for her arm.

Burgess hasn't been charged.
