The family of a teenager believed to have been ejected or sucked from a vehicle in the massive Joplin tornado last week on the way home from graduation has been found dead in pond near the truck.

Will Norton's aunt, Tracey Presslor, said Saturday his body wasn't found sooner because of debris in the pond. She said the family received confirmation of his death late Friday.

Presslor thanked the thousands of people who posted good wishes for Norton on Facebook and other sites, and thanked those who helped look for him.

Family members had said Norton and his father were on the road when the storm hit. The teen's Hummer H3 flipped several times, throwing him from the vehicle, likely through the sunroof.

The storm's death toll stands at 139.
