Nearly two dozen students from a Washington middle school have been expelled for participating in a bathroom fight club, according to Q13Fox.com.

The students from Steward Middle School in Tacoma were kicked out of school Monday after cell phone video of the fights emerged.

The video showed several middle school students fighting in the school's bathroom.

"I was horrified. I kept expecting one of them to go into a wall. Those bathrooms are very unforgiving on a 12-year-old boy's body," an aunt whose nephew was part of this fight club told the website.

One parent was upset about the heavy price his son paid being a part of this bathroom fight club.

"I'm pretty outraged at this... Now had they caught them, whole different story, but they didn't. I think the school should let me handle it," the father told Q13 Fox.

Tacoma school officials say they did not know these types of fights were happening.

"This particular bathroom that was identified will be locked immediately after school and no longer accessible," Tacoma Public Schools spokesman Dan Voelpel told Q13 Fox.

The boys involved in the fight club were given "emergency expulsions" and Voelpel says the length of time they will be out of school will be on a case-by-case basis.
