A man who tried to sell secrets about Walt Disney Co. finances has been sentenced in New York City to more than two years in prison.

Federal Judge Kimba Wood in Manhattan sentenced Yonni Sebbag on Friday to two years and three months. He previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit securities fraud and wire fraud.

Sebbag, a citizen of Morocco, and his girlfriend, a former Disney employee, were arrested in California last year.

Prosecutors say the girlfriend obtained information on Disney's quarterly earnings before they were made public and fed them to Sebbag. They say he tried to sell the tips to at least 33 investment companies; many of them notified the FBI.

Sebbag has been held without bail.
