The Boston Blazer Lacrosse team's mascot became a YouTube sensation Sunday night when "Scorch" took lap dances from performers during a half-time show at the TD Garden, MyFoxBoston.com reports.

The controversial performance outraged fans, many of whom attended Sunday's home-opener with young children.

"They put this red carpet down and there’s Scorch sitting in a chair," Boston Blazer Lacrosse fan Catherine Smith told the station. "And you see girls walking up to him and start giving him a lap dance. And it's like what's going on. I kind of had to let the shock run through me, it was really weird."

"At the end of the lap dance with one of the girls, they did a bong sound," said another fan. "And I think we all know what that means. I was kind of shocked that went on."

Several fans video-taped the racy act with cell phones and posted it to YouTube. The performance was also broadcast on the Garden Jumbo-Tron.

The show also prompted the team to release a statement, saying, "The Boston Blazers half-time act for Saturday's game was clearly not executed according to plan."

"We are extremely disappointed with elements of the half-time show," the team said. "We have already taken steps to ensure this never happens again at one of our games."
