Police in Miramar, Fla. are searching for a gunman who shot a woman who refused to give him her phone number.

The woman is 23-year-old Vernice Morris, a Broward Sheriff's Office dispatcher. She said during a news conference Thursday that a man in a black Lexus SUV approached her as she was leaving a club last week. She said she was not interested. He trailed her to her car. After she rebuffed him again, he threatened to shoot her, then followed her as she drove away. Morris said when she stopped at a red light, he pulled up to the passenger side of her car and fired at her.

Morris was treated for gunshot wounds to the stomach and left wrist.

Police spokesman Bill Robertson called the suspect "a very violent, dangerous subject."
